We want to give you a look behind the curtain. To show you the people behind the product - the people that make SOUNDBOKS’ magic happen every single day of the year.

Turbo is 26 years old by Danish count, 27 by Vietnamese and is one of our brilliant web developers here at SOUNDBOKS. He joined in the fun a little under 3 years ago as a student and was taken on as a full time developer shortly thereafter. Like many others in his field he has a bad habit of taking his job home with him, but when he can tear himself away he loves digging into a good book or spending time with his lovely wife.

Piña Colada - it was the first cocktail I made for my wife when I was a bartender. That’s how we met :)

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

I believe that change can be made if you start small and focus on what you yourself can do rather than trying to make a large scale impact from the get-go. If I change myself and my behavior in a positive way, I can have an impact on the people around me - and if everyone would do the same, I think we could get really far.

When’s the last time you felt as though you elevated a community?

Before Covid, I spent a lot of time at the Toastmaster Club here in Copenhagen - a “club” where you can practice your public speaking skills. Not only did I learn to express myself better, but I felt that I was able to contribute to the community by sharing my own experiences. I often spoke about SOUNDBOKS, about how we work and how we approach our customers - making our product stronger with the help of a tight knit community. I saw that it resonated with a lot of entrepreneurs at the gatherings because the way we approach customers is not only different, it's aspirational.

Which community do you want to raise up?

I am currently building a web app that will allow the “reading community” as I call it, to interact and share ideas and media in a new way. I see huge potential in connecting people who enjoy learning and expanding their knowledge. My app will allow people to learn from each other and hopefully create a deeper level of understanding and more fun way of retaining information. Knowledge is power and I think learning is the simplest way to improve your life.

When’s the last time you really felt brave?

Today - answering these questions. There are a lot of things in life that you maybe don’t want to talk about, but I think there is real power in sharing. By participating in this and sharing my story and my ideas, I feel brave and I am boosting my confidence.

What is your most memorable SOUNDBOKS moment?

I went from working part time as a student to being fully employed at SOUNDBOKS right around Black Friday 2018. I was one of only two programmers at the time and I was solely responsible for Black Friday - one of SOUNDBOKS biggest sell through days of the year. I was told by my manager that I need to be in the office by 8 and for some reason I thought he was joking. I’m a night owl and I was used to getting to the office around 11:30. Turns out my manager wasn’t joking, so when I showed up at the office at 8:30 thinking I was super early - there was complete chaos. The website had crashed and no one knew what to do. Luckily we managed to get everything up and running quickly and without any real impact - but it’s still the running joke around the office.
